Erik Markovs grew up in southeast Michigan and currently lives in Portland, Oregon. He is a self-taught artist who works in mixed media such as acrylics, oils, charcoal and spray paint. He also actively works in photography. After a number of years in the Foreign Service where he served in Colombia, Pakistan, Germany and other countries, he moved to Portland to pursue a career in the arts. His first exhibition took place in Portland at the newly renovated Glass Lab building from September 6 – October 27, 2019.

In April of 2020, Erik will be participating in the Vancouver International Art Fair, western Canada’s biggest art fair with over 10,000 participants and artists representing over 20 countries.
